Cookie Policy

How and why this site uses cookies - kept minimal, honest and in your control.

Last updated: 2026

We like to keep things simple. This website does not run marketing or advertising cookies and does not track you across other sites. The only thing it stores by default is your cookie choice. This page explains what that means - in plain English.

Our consent notice

"This website uses essential cookies to ensure its proper operation and tracking cookies to understand how you interact with it. The latter will be set only after consent."

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to help site owners understand how their pages are used. Closely related technologies - such as your browser's localStorage - work in a similar way by storing a small amount of information on your device. Where we mention "cookies" on this page, we mean cookies and these similar technologies together.

Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting (these are called first-party cookies). Others are set by a different organisation whose content is embedded in the page, such as a map (these are called third-party cookies).

How we use cookies

We have deliberately kept our use of cookies to a minimum:

  • Essential consent cookie. When you respond to our cookie banner, we save your choice in your browser under the key jg-cookie-consent (stored in localStorage). This lets us respect your decision and avoid showing you the banner on every page. Nothing in this value identifies you personally.
  • Embedded Google Map. Our Contact page includes a Google Map so you can find the workshop in Ladbroke Grove. When that map loads, Google may set its own third-party cookies. These are set only after you choose "Accept all" on the banner. If you choose "Necessary only", we treat that as your preference not to load optional third-party content.
  • No marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run advertising, retargeting, social-media tracking or analytics-profiling cookies on this site, and we do not sell or share your browsing data.

Cookie categories at a glance

Category What it does Name / source Stored
Strictly necessary Remembers your cookie choice (Accept all / Necessary only) so the consent banner does not reappear on every visit. This is the only data this site stores by default. jg-cookie-consent First-party (localStorage) Until you clear it
Optional / third-party The embedded Google Map on our Contact page. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. These are set only after you choose "Accept all". Set by Google Third-party (Google Maps) Set by Google

Managing your cookies

You are always in control. There are two simple ways to manage cookies on this site:

  • Our cookie banner. When you first arrive, a banner appears with two choices. Accept all allows optional third-party content such as the Google Map to load. Necessary only keeps the site to its essential consent cookie. Your choice is saved so you are not asked again.
  • Reset your choice. To see the banner again or change your decision, clear this site's data in your browser (which removes the jg-cookie-consent value). The next time you visit, the banner will reappear.
  • Browser settings. Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies. You can usually find these controls under Settings, then Privacy or Security. Blocking essential cookies may mean the banner reappears on each visit, but the rest of the site will still work.

Third-party services

The only third party able to set cookies through this website is Google, by way of the embedded Google Map on our Contact page, and only after you have chosen "Accept all". Google's own handling of any data it collects is governed by its privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time - for example, if we add a new feature or change the services embedded on our pages. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally so you stay informed about how we use cookies.

Contact us

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or how we handle your data, the quickest way to reach the workshop is a phone call, or you can message us on Facebook. We do not operate a public email address - all enquiries come to us by phone, Facebook or our on-site forms.
